Shahi Paneer

Ingredients:

250 grams- Paneer (cottge cheese)
3 tbsp – ghee or butter
1/2 cup – onion, chopped
1 tsp – Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 tbsp – ginger paste
1/4 cup – green chilies, chopped (2 Medium)
2 1/2 cup – Tomato, chopped or puree
2 - Cardamoms crushed
1/4 cup – yogurt
1/2 tsp – red chilli powder
1/2 tsp - garam masala
salt to taste
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp. tomato ketchup (optional)
Coriander Leaves to Garnish

Method:

  1. Cut Paneer into 2” long strips.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan; add cardamom and onion. Cook for 4 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes and green chili. Simmer and cook for 8 minutes.
  4. Add yogurt and cook for 5 minutes. Put off the flame. Put 1/2 cup of water and let it cool.
  5. Blend this mixture to make a smooth paste.
  6. Heat 2 tbsp oil in pan; add cumin seeds, add gravy, red chili powder, garam masala, and Ketchup.
  7. Boil this mixture and add milk.
  8. Bring it to boil again and add paneer. Cook for another 4 minutes.
  9. Garnish it with Coriander leaves. Serve Hot.
