
Ingredients:
Chopped Mustard Leaves 2 bunches
Chopped Onion 1 Large
Ginger Paste 1 Tbsp
Garlic Paste 1Tsp
Ghee/Oil 6Tbsp
Makai flour (Corn Flour) 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.
Chopped Tomato 1 Large
Chili powder 1 tsp
Hing(Asafetida) Powder A pinch
Salt to taste
Directions:
- Heat Ghee (6 tbsp) in pan, add pinch of hing( Asafetida).
- Add Chopped Tomato, add red chili powder and add turmeric powder.
- Add Chopped Mustard Leaves and salt to taste.
- Cover half of the pan and cook the mustard leaves till tender. Stir this mixture every 5 minutes to make sure it does not stick to pan.
- Mash the leaves to get thick consistency. You may use a hand blender, but be careful don't make a thin paste.
- Take Makai Flour in a bowl and add 2 tbsp of water. Mix it well and make a fine paste.
- Add this paste to Saag.
- Stir the saag until it gets dry.
- In a separate pan heat 2 tablespoon of ghee.
- Add chopped onion cook till golden in color.
- Add ginger and garlic paste, cook for 2 minutes.
- Mix the cooked onion in saag. Your sarson ka saag is ready.
Serve with Makai Ki Roti or Plain Paratha.
